The Coming of Spring
by Kumud Biswas

Who has splashed so much color
On these trees on these shrubs?
Who has raised waves in the breeze?
The earth has opened all her gates
Everything's swayed by the swaying woods.
Who is that careless sporting lad
That plays carelessly in the yards?
Bring your flute, flood with tunes
The day is parting
Broadcast your songs in the winds
Sweeten your farewell night
With farewell songs of evening skies
In the west
This flooding music
Has maddened the seas.

Transcreation of a song of the seasons ; Rang lagale bone bone by Rabindranath Tagore.
