The Rude Ruby Horse
by Chaitanya Raj
Once upon a time in a jungle there lived an elephant called Jumbo, a deer called Merly, the twin rabbits called Sweaty and Beauty, an owl called Curly, a peacock called Pari, the twin tigers called Merry and Fairy, a cat named Goofy and Ruby the horse. He was very rude and cruel to everybody in the jungle.

He said, “I am the king of the jungle”. He commanded them to do this and that.

There lived a boy and his grandfather. They were fed up of the horse.

One day a man came to the Jungle and he saw the animals were looking worried. The man asked the animals, “What is the problem? Why are you so worried?”

The animals told him the problem.

He said “I have a solution for this problem.”

He went to the horse and said, “Please don’t be rude with other animals”.

The horse said, “Who are you to advise me? I will decide how to behave with the animals”

The man said, “I am a friend of the animals, please don’t disturb them.”

The horse said, “Just get away from my way”. The horse behaved very rudely with the man.

The next day the horse went for a walk in the jungle. His legs were stuck in puddle of mud and the news spread in the jungle.

All animals said, “It is good,” and decided no one will go to help him.

The man heard this news and ran as fast as he could to help the horse. All animals stopped him and said, “Why are you going to help him. God has given him the punishment for his mistakes”. The man merely smiled and went off.

He pulled out the horse from the puddle of mud.

The horse’s eyes were filled with tears of gratefulness and he hugged the man.

The horse regretted for the mistakes he had committed and promised he would never behave rudely with other animals. Then there was peace in the jungle. The boy and his grandfather were also very happy and gifted the man a box full of delicious food and thanked him. The animals lived happily ever after.
