On the night of the 7th of November, I, Aashna, was feeling strange. I was supposed to be in bed but I just wasn’t getting sleep. I had read a book about ancient civilizations and I felt sure that something would happen. Then after about five minutes for the tenth time I told myself it was all rubbish and that nothing was going to happen and finally fell asleep.
I closed my eyes and I felt wonderful. I was in Egypt and I was wearing a strange tiger cloth wrapped around me like a skirt. I was sitting on the top of a half-made pyramid that I had been making and I was taking a little rest. I walked to river Nile and sipped some of its cool crystal-clear water. It felt very refreshing and I thought I would get back to my pyramid making job. I was soon done and I lay down by the river and closed my eyes. Suddenly I heard a voice shouting, “Wake up! Wake up!”
I woke up to find myself lying on the bed with my mother standing by my side. “What’s the matter with you?” My mother asked me. “You’ve overslept!” she said. “Now quickly get ready and don’t dream anymore.”
As I was going to school I looked at my bed. I saw a small piece of stone- the kind I had been building the pyramid with. Was it a dream? I asked myself.
“Aashna ! quick! Don’t expect me to drop you to school! Get going now!” I heard my mother shout.
I’ll find out later I told myself.
