Jack and the Beanstalk
by Raj Mehta
Book Reviews by members of Reading Rainbow Club

Jack and the Beanstalk is a book written by Suzy Jane Taner. It is a book about a poor boy called Jack who had to sell his cow for money but got magical beans instead. He had no money now. His mother scolded him and threw the beans away. A beanstalk grows in the morning. Jack climbs and climbs it to reach the top. He saw a huge castle in the clouds.

It is very fascinating to read that Jack saw a huge castle on the clouds. You actually don’t see real castles in the real clouds. The castle was very big, huge, dangerous and enormous. I felt a little afraid. My favorite part is when the giant snores so loudly that the castle begin to shake. Finally, Jack is able to get a hen who lays golden eggs, coins of gold and a harp who sings on its own. The story is full of magic and I would also wish to be in that kind of a world for some days.
