Folk of the Faraway Tree
by Anush Joshi
Book Reviews by members of Reading Rainbow Club

Today I want to talk about a book written by Enid Blyton. My mummy and I read it together. It’s called, ‘The Folk of the Faraway Tree’. Every page makes me smile, every character makes me want to meet him/her and every adventure makes my eyes light up. I start living in their world. It’s sad when I have to come back.

This book talks about a huge magical tree with wonderful and different lands at the top which keep changing. It has weird people who do funny things on the tree. The book is mix of real and magical people. What was wonderful about Enid Blyton was that, she thought as a child, and so wrote as a child. I think she was always a child. And that’s the secret of her wonderful stories.
