Once Upon a Time...
by Ananya Prasad
Once upon a time there was a fox whose name was Pinku. . He did not have anything to drink and eat. And he was very poor also. He was very upset. He came to a forest in search of food.  He was the son of his mother and did not like to eat flesh and would like to eat only vegetarian food. In the forest the fox stayed for two day but could not get anything to eat. He felt hungry and weak. He thought to take rest that might make him feel better.   After taking rest for sometime he tried to get up but he was not able to stand up. Then he thought he was not taking his food correctly because he was not listening to his mother. The mother fox came to the forest looking for Pinku. She told him that there was a little girl around here who could cure him. Both of them went in search of the little girl. They found her soon.
Pinku asked the little girl, " I am in trouble. Can you help me?
The little  girl replied, "Yes, I can. Tell me what your problem is?"
The little girl told him to take some medicine she prepared. But she told him that take the medicine only after eating some vegetarian food. The fox agreed.
Then the girl said, "Now you have to do my work."
The fox asked, "What  work?"
The little girl said," You have to give me some hair from your body."
The fox said, "O.K. O.K."
The little girl was happy.
She said, “I helped you. Now it is your turn to help me."
After eating the food and taking the medicine the fox refused to help her by giving some hair from his body.
He said by making faces, "pooh! I will not give you my hair."
The little girl was sad. She told him, "But you agreed to help me."
At this the fox became very angry and wanted to beat the little girl. The girl quietly moved away from that place and stood by nearby well. She began to cry loudly. She thought that nobody was  helping  her. She was in a bad mood. She jumped into the well.
The fox went to her home and lived there eating and enjoying the food that was there. Nobody knew where she was. People forgot her after sometime.
There are many things in life which we cannot get. If we help others we should not ask for  anything in return.   The little girl ended her life. Was she wise?
