Fly in the Soup
by Seshu Chamarty
Hey waiter, look here,
There’s a fly in my soup.
Sir, what shall I do then …
Call an ambulance?
No harm if it can’t swim,
The creature will be dead anyway.

Tell me your answer, fly bearer?
How will I know, sir?
I'm a waiter, not a scientist.
Did it not taste funny?
And why aren’t you laughing?
Finally, split not your hair on flies,
They can’t drink much.
So pay your bill and leave, Sir.
And thank your stars
For the fly is on the house.
