When My Turtle Got Magic
by Aryan Java Williams

This is the story when my turtle got magic. My turtle’s name was Lucky and he was twelve years old. But in this short time he had seen many things. He was an ordinary turtle and he loved to relax under the tree with his friend Koya. Koya was not a real turtle. He was not a turtle at all but a giant frog. The problem was that Koya looked and acted like a turtle. When Koya was not around Lucky would dig in the warm sand and go to sleep. One day as Lucky was asleep he dreamt of entering the land of spells. There he found a turtle tree which turtles could climb easily. On top of the tree he met a pixie with large pointed ears and slanted eyes. The pixie liked his shell with many colorful patterns on it. Lucky came down from the tree and gave him a ride on his back. The pixie was delighted and shouted “hu-ha!” “hu-ha!”.

The pixie asked Lucky if he wanted a spell. He said he wanted a spell that could help him to find as many spells on the ground as he wanted. Of course this pixie was a young man. He was a gnome kind of pixie not a dog kind of pixie. The pixie said that if Lucky wanted such a powerful spell he has to put the spell on himself. Lucky agreed. Then the pixie whispered a spell to Lucky. The spell was “excuja-miyou” and he had to say it seven times for the spell to work.

First of all since Lucky was quite hungry he put a spell on himself to find huge honey-cakes, pop buns and toffee pops. Honey cakes are goodies that have honey in the middle. When you bite into it, they make a popping noise and honey flows out of them. Pop buns are the ones that have honey in the middle and taste like sweet buns. Toffee pops are lollipops that pop into nothing when you suck hard at them.

Lucky called his friend Koya who was delighted to see such goodies as frogs usually do not come across such sweet things in the sea. The two friends enjoyed the goodies together. Some of the goodies popped in their mouth when they bit into them or licked at them hard with their long tongues. Remember these goodies were magical goodies. Then since Lucky liked Koya he put a spell on himself again and turned Koya into a real turtle. Every turtle in the sea was surprised by this magic. They felt proud of Lucky and called him the Magic Turtle from then onwards.

My Magic Turtle had already lived for three hundred years with Koya when I got him by chance. He is still alive today. Koya is also with him. Two friends can do great magic. You can talk to Lucky or Koya if you want to know if this is a real story or not.
