The Aim of My Life
by Parthasarathi Sahu

The aim of my life is to become an Indian Air-Force Officer and serve the nation. Apart from that, I also aim to open an NGO (Non Governmental Organization) through which I can educate the slum dwellers of Delhi, specially their children, and tell them about the value of education and a respectable living.

I will convince them that they lose their self-respect and they are insulted, scolded by all. So they must stop begging and earn their livelihood by working—in factories as workers, or by tailoring, by becoming artists, potters, cobblers ,daily wagers, cooks—or whatever is available to them. Because work is worship, and hard work always pays back.

Also I will tell them that by leading this type of a respectable life, they can spare their children from the ill-fate of becoming beggars. They should send their children to schools, so that through education they can become respectable citizens of the country, and not beggars. Also I shall make them aware of the government policies and the private NGOs through which rehabilitation of the poor beggars is possible.

Begging is a bad habit I will do my best to ensure that the beggars leave this habit and become responsible human beings.
