An International Story Telling Conference was organized at SAI International, Bhubaneswar from 28th Jan to 4th February. Writers and story tellers from different parts of the world interacted with the kids. My session was on the last day and I had a super surprise in store for me. My story, The Cactus was enacted by a group of tiny tots. As the little ones told the short story their enthusiasm, energy and sheer histrionic talent had me clapping for an encore.
This was followed by storytelling session where I told the love story of a donkey. The kids screamed and shouted in delight as the tale progressed and their response made me wish and pray for Father Time to Freeeeeze!
The children then were divided into groups and given pictures to write. After they had finished I asked them to read out. They went a step further and performed a series of impromptu role plays.
It ended with me signing away autographs like a cricket icon or a pop star and praying once again to ‘Pop Time’….
