How to Imagine the Class Bully
by Susan Abraham
Be careful of 8-year old Alluguminal Muthusamy.
Indeed. Indeed. She could turn into a witch, all moody and grumpy.
She could grab a lidi broomstick.
And visit on the dot of a midnight blot,
She could scare you with her eerie laugh
Her bones a noisy creak and turn out all the lights.
She could turn up with long nails, a mask and farce and black teeth
Too by your cozy bed
She could steal her grandma's betel-nut leaves
To make her lips a bloodshot red.
She could bite your bones out and leave you for dead.
Or she could make a nice soup stock
with the hard bits to eat in her cold dark bed.
Otherwise, she may pour a bowl of dal and mushy greens into your
satchel when you fail to look.
And then you'll find a pile of muddy seaweed in place of a tidy school book..
You may even find a guppy swimming about...
For which you may be tempted to give her a clout.
What to do! Oh, what to do!
Just warn the teacher she may pounce from the loo.
So the next time she grabs a packet of sweets
For what she calls a clever bully treat
You'll know just what is the right thing to do
But just now, be careful and be watchful.
You never know with the silly willy-nilly of a beastly bully,
The creepy broomstick adventure of Alluguminal Muthusamy.
