Poems
Night in a Jungle
by Sonali Patnaik

Cozy winter night it was
Only moonlight was falling on me
Darkness all around
Walking alone into the jungle
What a dangerous time it was?
Lions roaring, Jarwas dancing
Crazy leaves fluttering around
Rain could not stop its temptation
I was terribly afraid
Only God came to my mind
I could see fire at a long distance
Frightened and all alone
Following the fire
Without making a bit of sound
All alone, feeling hungry,
Chilly weather, ominous night
My body and mind was not with me
Ultimately I reached near the fire
I thanked God and was lost in deep sleep
