Poems
Oh Stars!

by Rutuparna Nanda

Oh stars!
Shining in the sky like diamonds.
Are you smiling at each other?
Or gossiping about somebody?
Talking about moon or the Sun?
Making fun of me?
Why do you keep away from the moon?
Are you sulky about her?
When I watch you lying on my roof top,
I feel I would catch you,
Snatch you from the sky!
Fetch you, keep you in my closet.
So close to me, my intimate being.

Oh stars!
Why do you twinkle so much?
I am happy but a little envious
of thy happiness.
Come, be my friend,
Lets’ play and make fun together,
Spread only love and joy all over the world.
